Car Overturns In Fiery Crash On Garden State Parkway (Developing)

A fiery crash involving an overturned car caused delays along the Garden State Parkway during evening rush hour Thursday, Oct. 5.

It happened on the southbound side in Aberdeen near Exit 117, the state's DOT website shows.

A New Jersey State Police spokesperson said the crash involved a BMW and Chevrolet both traveling south. The BMW lost directional control, collided with the Chevrolet, overturned and subsequently caught fire near milepost 119.6.

Heavy delays were being reported as of 6 p.m.

Based on a preliminary investigation, The driver of the BMW was transported to an area hospital. No serious injuries reported.
